WHAT HAPPENS AT A RANDOLPH TOASTMASTERS MEETING?
After a short business meeting we get down to the fun of learning public speaking.
Fun, you ask? Yes – Fun!!
Humor
We begin each meeting with humor – our humor master provides a joke to start our meeting on a light note.
Word of the Day
To enrich our vocabulary, a word master provides a word and encourages every one who has an opportunity to speak to use the word.
Speeches
Next there are two or three featured speakers. Each one gives a short speech, normally 5 -7 minutes, aimed at meeting one of the goals outlined in their educational manuals.
Table Topics
To provide members who are not on the schedule an opportunity to speak and practice thinking on your feet, we have Table Topics.
Speech Evaluation
Afterwards, the speeches are evaluated.
Awards
The meeting ends with awards for the best Table Topic speaker, featured speaker, and evaluator!
WHAT ARE THE ACHIEVEMENT LEVELS?
- CTM- Competent Toastmaster: Received after completing the basic manual (10 speeches).
